Our Foremen are equipped with company laptops and tablets enabling them to access blueprints, files and critical information anywhere, anytime. Every INNOV8 carpenter is equipped with a smartphone to provide seamless communication.
We hold General Liability Insurance of $5,000,000 and are WorkSafeBC insured.
We utilize a powerful project management software system at every level of our organization to foster strong internal communication and job-site efficiency. Our software tracks labour costs down to the minute and shows the GPS location of our crews, which allows us to provide our clients full transparency and accountability.
Owners
Mark Pavesic, Co-Owner
Mark is a second generation master carpenter, learning his craft from his father beginning at a young age. He was born in Ontario and travelled extensively as a young child for his father’s work before settling in Victoria at age 14.
Having been on job sites from the age of 12 he realized early that carpentry is an art and those that excel have a passion to create and pride in a job well done. He took that same work ethic and drive to excel to his other passion as a competitive sprint cyclist and holds several Masters titles at the provincial level.
Mark brings the same core values to both his personal and professional life, integrity, kindness and authenticity. Family and community is very important to him. As a husband and father of a teenage daughter and son he understands that to motivate you must lead by example and stay true to yourself.
Norm Verbrugge, Co-Owner
Norm began his property development career in 1984 after finding a passion for construction while working as a carpenter. Over the last 35 years he has built many single family homes, townhouses and condominiums.
Norm loves to create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing and enjoys the feeling he gets when a customer is excited with the results of his work. He enjoys the process of transforming concepts into reality while guiding a project from start to finish. One quality which sets Norm apart as a builder is that he approaches each project as if he would live in it.
Having been born and raised on the island, along with his wife and three children, it is important to Norm that the communities he is involved in are respected and enhanced.
Management
Rami Chapman, Office Manager
Rami joined the Innov8 Group Construction team in 2019. She oversees all administrative and accounting functions in the office and is responsible for handling all daily operations behind the scenes. Rami has over 10 years of accounting and administrative experience and has successfully completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She enjoys working with numbers, problem solving, and streamlining process.
Rami grew up in Squamish, BC and has lived on Vancouver Island for the past three years. When not working, she enjoys cooking, getting out for hikes, and taking road trips to explore all the beautiful places Vancouver Island has to offer.
Tim Stuart, Lead Foreman
Tim joined Innov8 Group Construction in 2019 and whether a job be large or small he always pays attention to detail. He has spent many years in the trades and along with his vast knowledge in woodworking he has a remarkable ability to lead. Tim also takes great pride in providing exceptional customer service. Creating beautiful projects that are of lasting quality is something that draws him to his work.
Tim is a family man and shares his journey with a loving wife and three beautiful children. Tim lives a high paced life but is able to find time for his interest in golf. In fact Tim spent many years as a golf pro and we are certain that this is where he has honed his patience as he is always calm cool and collect. Tim is a well rounded individual that cares deeply about his community and will always lend a hand to any individual in need. We are pleased to have Tim as part of our team and cannot speak highly enough of his desire to build on the philosophy of our culture. Quality, integrity kindness.
Chris Shortt, Project Manager
Chris began his road to a becoming a Journeyman early at the early age of 17 in the trenches as a Labourer. After working for a few different companies, he spent 10 years with a residential framing company where he started and completed his apprenticeship, becoming a Red Seal carpenter by 24.
After spending years running crews and supervising projects, he decided to focus on building a company of his own, which he operated for several years. Chris has experience in many different disciplines of carpentry ranging from foundations, framing, siding, finishing and more.
Chris’s whole family, past and present, share the love of sports, which has instilled in him the qualities of hard work and dedication. Chris has had a lifelong passion for football. He has played, coached and has had the privilege to spend the last 15 years as a Referee officiating university level National Championships and Inter-Conference playoff games, as well as a two-season stint as a CFL Referee.
